| External Video Eyeware Apparatus |
[14 Jun 2006|01:23am] |
The photos below are of a finished prototype which I custom developed for the Dutch recording artist, Grendel. I was commissioned by the band to design and build a (non-functional) video eye-piece device which could be worn on stage during live shows. This is the first time anyone (including the band) is seeing the completed design.
The beautiful model you see wearing the hardware device is my lovely new girlfriend, Amanda. I think she's awesome. More of her modeling and photography can be found under the name Synesthesia.
Grendel's Official Website can be found here... www.grendel-base.com
All hardware and photographs used in this post were designed, built, and photographed by Christopher Conte www.christopherconte.com
Enjoy, Christopher Conte

| Operation Starbucks |
[23 Jan 2006|06:01pm] |
Photos taken inside an actual (undisclosed) Starbucks location, during peak business hours. As always, these images are not Photoshop alterations. The photos you see are of a real-world intervention.
*A special thanks to CZ-20 for the last two images (and all others who helped make this possible).

PS- You're not just looking at an altered logo
There is no vaccine. There is no escape. There is no hope. There is only Czerka Industries.

| Official CZERKA Announcement |
[06 Oct 2005|07:01pm] |
Greetings, For some time now people have asked, “Why the hell is Czerka not on MySpace?”
Well, my response has consistently been “Czerka doesn’t belong there”.
Aside from MySpace being nothing more than a plagiarized copy of Friendster, it’s primarily designed as an online dating service. Inability to fully control design elements and remove ridiculous information such as relationship status/sign/etc contributed to my reluctance.
Well, some of you by now have already noticed a Czerka profile which showed up about a month ago. This MySpace page was originally created by CZ-20 from the New York Chapter and has since been authorized by Czerka. While still maintained primarily by CZ-20, I approved this page myself.
So, to any of you who are also on Myspace, feel free to add Czerka if you like, I’ll make sure you are added back. Also - a special thanks to adamthebastard for designing the banner we used on the MySpace page.
The page can be found here...

Thank you, CZ-01

| Early Preview of Upcoming Czerka Droid |
[11 Jul 2005|07:01pm] |

Okay, this should explain my recent absence...
As I promised, this is my latest work, still under development. It's an experimental robotic platform being built primarily using found/recycled aluminum and stainless steel parts. The frame/chassis/suspension system (not complete) are based on concepts originally explored in the earlier, much smaller, syringe droid.
As you may notice in the photo, the wheels are not yet attached, but placed in position to provide a sense of scale. It’s my largest robot to date, about the size of a lawnmower base. Two surplus 12V cordless drill motors will drive each rear wheel independently using 24 volts of onboard battery power.
Expect to see more photos as this project develops.
Hoping everyone is well, Chris

| Czerka Tracked Assault Droid Prototype |
[16 Sep 2004|07:01pm] |
In continuing with our quest to build, design, and test machines constructed with the sole intension of maiming and inflicting catastrophic injury to humans, we introduce the Tracked Assault Droid Prototype, SA-2.
Overview: Constructed and designed by Zyklon C, this prototype incorporates an onboard microcontroller (BASIC Stamp 2), onboard memory (EEPROM and RAM), an LCD screen, and the ability to be programmed in PBASIC via PC serial port. No human intervention (or remote control) is required for operation once programmed. Only the highest quality parts and materials have been used (primarily stainless steel), resulting in an excessively over-powered and nearly indestructible platform.
Technical Data: Mainframe: 6061 T-6 Aircraft grade aluminum- custom CNC machined. Suspension Arms: 316 Series medical-grade Stainless Steel bar stock, 3/16” thick. Sprockets: 304 Series Stainless Steel Tracks: Nickel-plated Hardened Steel Bicycle Chain Microcontroller: Parallax BASIC Stamp 2 (BS2) Motherboard: Parallax Board of Education (BOE) Processor Speed: 20 MHz, ~4,000 instructions per second LCD Terminal Application Module: 2 x 8 monochromatic display.

| Imperial Dynasty Update #5 - September 2004 |
[08 Sep 2004|06:01pm] |
Since last year, I have received many interesting, creative, and often funny emails regarding Czerka. The nature of these emails can be grouped into three basic categories...
(1) Membership Requests (2) Design suggestions or idea proposals (3) Words of support
This update focuses soley on the first category, Czerka Operative applications. The following are all actual emails received over the past few months.
There are many more, but these are some of the more memorable...

| New Attack Drone Ver 2 Photos from Sunday |
[23 Aug 2004|11:01pm] |
Yesterday we finished shooting the Czerka Propaganda Film and completed our final testing phase of the UAV Wireless Missle Launch System. With the exception of two near decapitations, things went beautifully well. A special thank you to everyone who was there - you were all great and made it a memorable experience. A very special thanks to our brilliant photography team including exe23 (aka johanne) and littlemike for providing this exquisite collection of photos.
Please note- While some amazing photography was done on the ground, I've chosen only to post aerial shots to keep the secret testing location uncompromised and to protect the identities of the innocent.
Enjoy the photos, CZ-01

| Helicopter Rocket Launch Testing |
[14 Jul 2004|06:01pm] |

Video stills taken from video captured by littlemike
Ever wonder what would happen if you attached rockets to a gas powered radio controlled helicopter, then fired them at your close friends? – okay, probably not. Well, at Czerka, these are the maniacal ideas that keep us up at night.
And we don’t just sit around and wonder - we find out. Later this summer you'll see the first ever short film produced by Czerka Industries. Until that time, we have an early sneak preview of our preliminary tests.
Inspired by DARPA, mindless robotic drones using odd combinations of mismatched off-the-shelf technology will be firing upon moving human targets as an undeniable demonstration of our high standard product testing procedures. People tested. Czerka approved.
A special thanks to exe23 (aka johanne), littlemike, and Somya for providing an incredible group of images and video without which this post would not be possible.
Also, thank you to all others who were present, you all helped make this sucessful.
